Supporting Sustainability and Nature Conservation: CFES at RT2023

November 2023

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) once again held its annual Roundtable Conference (RT2023), which took place on 20–22 November 2023 at Hotel Mulia Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia. The conference was attended by more than 800 delegates from 40 countries. With the theme “Partner for the Next 20”, RT2023 aimed to foster collaborative opportunities and concrete steps in addressing the challenges of sustainable palm oil.

CFES, as an institution supporting the implementation of the RSPO’s Remediation and Compensation Procedures (RaCP), participated in RT2023 as an exhibitor. Throughout the event, CFES had the opportunity to promote its services to visitors attending RT2023. One of the services offered by CFES is to support and facilitate RSPO member partners in implementing the RaCP.

In addition, CFES presented a Tree of Hope, where visitors could write down their aspirations for environmental conservation and encourage the public to reduce emissions for the sake of global climate sustainability. These messages were then hung on the Tree of Hope displayed at the CFES booth, serving as a visual communication tool to inspire other attendees.

Beyond RT2023, CFES and GAIA also held a side event on 21 November 2023, titled “Introduction: Solution for Climate Action for Community and Conservation”, in collaboration with GAIA. This session was held outside the official RT2023 program and invited various stakeholders, including representatives from the private sector, government, corporations, NGOs, and CFES partners. The event aimed to introduce CFES and GAIA as organizations working in the environmental sector, offering practical climate action solutions for communities and conservation.
